Welcome

Hannah green.png

Hi, I’m Hannah, the founder of The Edinburgh Counselling Service. I'm so glad you've found your way here.

We are a team of experienced counsellors and psychotherapists offering compassionate, thoughtful and personalised counselling in Edinburgh.

We support people navigating challenges such as stress, anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, depression and burnout. Together, we aim to help you make sense of your experiences, deepen your self-understanding, and move towards a life that feels more balanced, meaningful and fulfilling.

We blend established psychotherapeutic approaches with thoughtful, modern techniques, creating a space that is both grounded and responsive to you. Above all, we offer a warm, compassionate environment where you can feel truly seen, heard and understood. Through genuine human connection, meaningful change begins within — and often, what shifts inside you begins to gently transform your world around you.

Our Counselling Services

Individual Counselling

A supportive and confidential space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, gain insight, and work towards positive change. We support individuals experiencing difficulties such as anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem, burnout, trauma, relationship challenges and perfectionism. Sessions are available in person in Edinburgh or online across the UK.

Couples Counselling

A calm, neutral space for partners who want to strengthen their relationship or work through challenges together. Couples counselling can help improve communication, deepen understanding, and rebuild connection while supporting healthy boundaries for both partners.

Children and Young People's Counselling

We offer a warm, safe and accepting space where children and young people can explore their feelings, build confidence, and develop emotional resilience. If something feels difficult or overwhelming for your child, support is available.

If you have any questions or would like to arrange an initial consultation, you’re very welcome to get in touch. All enquiries are responded to personally by me, Hannah — a qualified counsellor and psychotherapist. I understand how daunting it can feel to take that first step, both as a therapist and from my own experience as a client. You’re welcome to ask any questions, no matter how small.

If you would like support in choosing the right counsellor or approach, I’m here to help. I will take the time to understand your needs, preferences and availability, so we can thoughtfully match you with a therapist who feels right for you.

I aim to respond to all enquiries within 48 hours. If you haven’t heard from me, please do check your junk folder just in case.
